Company's Coming! Holiday Green Cleaning Priorities

Don't think of holiday green cleaning as "one more thing."  Think of it as a gift-to-self!  A green cleaned home is always a mood lifter.  Whether your company with be guests for the day or overnight, you will want your home to give them a green cleaned, warm welcome!  Which rooms are a MUST-DO?

The Entryway:
Make sure your guests have a clear path into your home!  You don't want to start the visit off with guests having to carefully conquer shoe mountain when coming in!

The Bathroom:
Whether your guests have to share a bathroom with your family members or not, be sure that this room gets priority!  Guests may not even notice whether you dusted or not, but they will notice a neglected bathroom.

Note-to-self:  Save this room for last, IF guests need to share bathroom with your family members.
Green clean ALL surfaces--including walls! Use Harmony Aromatherapy Multi-Purpose Cleaner on walls.  Harmony Aromatherapy Bathroom Cleaner takes on the shower walls, tub, sink and toilet.  Do you have hard water?  On shower walls/tub/sink; let Harmony Aromatherapy Bathroom Cleaner sit for at least half an hour before wiping down.  This allows time for the natural citric acid in the cleaner to work its non-toxic magic—breaking down hard water deposits.  Believe me this works!  I no longer have to use obnoxious vinegar for my hard water issues!  Finally, green clean bathroom floor with Harmony Aromatherapy Granite and Tile Cleaner.

The finishing touch: Either spray Harmony All-Natural Air Freshener in the room or add a few drops of Harmony Essential Oil to your toilet bowl brush holder.  I like to add Harmony Peppermint Essential Oil to my toilet bowl brush as a festive touch for the holiday season!  Be sure there is plenty of extra, easily accessible toilet paper too!
As an added touch for overnight guests:  have a small basket with travel-size toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo gel, and bath gel, in a noticeable place either in the bathroom itself or in the guest bedroom. Basically, these are toiletries that can easily be forgotten when traveling.  My mother-in-law created a toiletry basket for her guests, and I will have to say it came in handy on a handful of occasions while visiting her!

This amenities basket is easy to put together and costs next-to-nothing when you simply collect and save the free toothpaste and toothbrushes you get when going to the dentist.  For free shampoo and bath gels, collect unused toiletries from your hotel travels!

I Spy Cobwebs!
Shoo dusty cobwebs!  Be on the lookout around the ceiling and corners of each room to snag those pesky webs.  They are quick to catch if you attach a microfiber rag to the end of a broom and spray the rag with Harmony Aromatherapy Multi-Purpose Cleaner.

If time allows, spray Harmony Aromatherapy  Wood Floor Cleaner directly on a dusting mitt or microfiber cloth to snag dust on bookshelves, entertainment stand, and other furniture in your living spaces.

Tidied Kitchen:
Put everything in its place.  Organize the countertops and clean with Harmony Aromatherapy Granite and Tile Cleaner (for granite/natural stone countertops) or Harmony Aromatherapy Multi-Purpose Cleaner.  Green Clean the sink with either of the same.

If time allows, clean the refrigerator with Harmony Aromatherapy Dish Wash or Harmony Aromatherapy Multi-Purpose Cleaner.

A clear view:
Prioritize windows in entryway, bathroom, guest bedroom, living area, dining area and kitchen.

Clean windows brighten any home and are a definite welcoming touch for company!  Don't forget the window sills!

This priority green clean checklist should cover all your bases for company coming.

Don't sweat the small stuff!
Enjoy your time with others and may your get-together be
wonderfully memorable!
