Get Greening Your St. Patrick's Day Plans

Have some fun in preparing for your St. Patty's Day event by getting the family involved in the process.  Create a "scavenger's hunt" to find green items to use as decorations.

Look into other holiday boxes/totes for green things; Christmas green tablecloth , green plates and cups.  Open your Halloween box/tote for a witch's cauldron that can act as the pot for your 'pot 'o gold."

We've had a long drawn out winter throughout the country, so bring some spring to the party and purchase potted green plants as table décor.  When your guests are getting ready to leave, give them a plant to take home—spread some spring cheer!

Menu:
Simplify the party and serve finger foods.  Focus on green veggies and green fruits.  If serving  cheese, slice pieces into small circles and surround the pile with rye crackers or other dark crackers as a "pot 'o gold."

Want a more elaborate menu?  Think re-useable tableware when serving your fine Irish fare.

What to wear?
Take your New Year's Party Hat and deck it out with a large green ribbon.  Need more inspiration?  Visit a local thrift store for ideas and outfits.
