Organize my Work!

The first month of a new year marks new beginnings!  We are embarking on a new cleaning series: "Green Cleaning Through the Seasons."  This series will address specific areas to green clean within a particular season as well as how to more efficiently organize that space.  Since January falls in the winter season, we will start off with what you areas to prioritize in the winter months.  There is no better place to get started organizing and green-clean sprucing up than in the office!
How often have you become distracted and lost productive work time?  How many times have you misplaced an important invoice or document due to your lack of organization?

January is the perfect month to get your business off on the right foot.  Whether you have to commute to the office or simply head to another room in your home to start your work day, beginning with organizing your office, makes the most sense.  A few top benefits of a green cleaned, organized office are: more productivity, more fiscal responsibility, less time spent preparing for tax filing.
So…let's get started…

The Blessing of a Broken Dishwasher

--written by Brenda

I will be honest, one of the on-going challenges in my home has been keeping a clean kitchen.  It is not for lack of cleaning products as I am a firm believer in cleaning with all-natural, green cleaning products.  Something mysterious seems to occur between the late afternoon hours and the late night hours of the day.  The "Dirty Dish Bandits" show up and do their mischief. (I am sure these "Dirty Dish Bandits" are in cohorts with my teenagers!)

Then one day it happened, my dishwasher died.

It was not a sudden death but a slow drawn-out death.  Even though I knew it would happen soon, I was not ready for that day.
With my dishwasher now beyond repair, the Dirty Dish Bandits wreaked even more havoc in my kitchen. Although my children (college-aged & teenagers) do chores around the house, and clean up the dishes after supper, my kitchen always seems to have some dirty dishes lying about (in those peak hours I already mentioned).  When the dishwasher broke, the problem became compounded.

I decided enough is enough and one weekday afternoon I set about removing every cup, glass, bowl, plate and all silverware from my kitchen cupboards.

Do-able Green Resolutions for 2015

A new year brings new hopes, dreams and plans.  If you are like most people, you have some resolutions brewing in your mind.  Though grand resolutions are noble, they often fall flat.  Make sure your goals for the new year are in the realm of reality.  Consider each year as a building block that the next year can be built upon.  Over time your grand resolutions can become realities.
