Buyer Beware of Toxic Hand Sanitizers in Marketplace!

An increase in demand for hand sanitizers, brought on by Covid-19, saw many companies producing hand sanitizers that once had not.   While “rising to the occasion” in an effort to supply the country with hand sanitizers, is great; it is imperative that companies do so in a safe and legal way—for the protection and safety of the population.

With that being said,
HG Labs and Harmony Aromatherapy Cleaners –a division of US Industrial Fluids, is pleased to share with you…

We are FDA licensed and certified manufacturers of hand sanitizers!

We have taken the right steps in procuring an FDA license to manufacture hand sanitizers.  Safety and effectiveness should be two sides of the same coin and our product is both!

Our hand sanitizers (USIF ET70 and USIF 80E) are:

All Natural, gentle as well as 99.9% effective

Ingredients Sourced and Made in the USA!

Ethanol from corn
Aloe Vera
Vitamin E

HG Labs and Harmony Aromatherapy’s commitment for excellent, safe, all-natural household cleaners EXTENDS to providing you with a SAFE, and EFFECTIVE HAND SANITIZER.

Why the new concern over hand sanitizers?

In recent days, reports are being made of hand sanitizers that contain a very toxic substance; wood methanol.  In an article written By Mark DeCambre, June 24, 2020 in “Market Watch,” the FDA warns of 9 toxic hand sanitizers.

The report indicated, “Substantial methanol exposure can result in nausea, vomiting, headache, blurred vision, permanent blindness, seizures, coma, permanent damage to the nervous system or death.”

Don’t take a chance on the hand sanitizer you apply to your skin!

Be sure it is an FDA licensed hand sanitizer -- Sourced and Made in the USA.

The More of Less...Marathon Cleaner VS Daily Cleaning

I remember back in elementary school during one of our English subject hours my teacher read a paragraph that did not contain any punctuation marks.  She took a deep breath, and then proceeded to read the entire paragraph—without stopping.  At the end, she gasped for breath and we all laughed.  It was a wonderful illustration of the need for punctuation.  Those pauses within and between sentences allows room for space.  Space that distinguishes between thoughts and space that allows the reader to take a breath!

Those tiny little punctuation markings greatly enhance comprehension of the written words.

What punctuation does for our written language, so breaks do for our 24- hour day.

What Weeds and Clutter Have in Common

I have come to the conclusion that clutter has similar properties to weeds.

                       WEEDS                                             CLUTTER

NO effort to grow.                                                Easy to “grow.”
Starts small and non-threatening.                       The same.
Easily takes over.                                                Will spread.
Weeds will come back.                                       Clutter will return.
Requires decisive action to eliminate.                The same.
Maintenance is required for control.                   Maintenance is a MUST.

(Guest Post) A personal confession:  I am guilty of neglecting my yard this summer.  This is the first year that I have not been motivated to do yard work and it shows!   I have prioritized other things and though that has been necessary (to a point), spending an hour here or there would make my yard look more attractive.

Seeing weeds in my flower beds is a CONSTANT REMINDER of my neglect.  This makes me sigh mentally EVERY TIME I see the weeds!  The reality is quite simple, I need to take an hour three days out of the week to get things cleaned up!  This really is not difficult, I just need to prioritize the task.

Thankfully, the inside of my home does not reflect the neglect that the outside does!   When I consider how I work to maintain a clutter-free interior, I think to myself how I need to apply the same principles outside that I do inside!

How I maintain a clutter-free home:
Everything has a place.
Everything is placed within boundaries.
Pantry storage is in boxes with like items or glass jars.
Books are in neat crates or bookshelves.
Clothes are in dressers, hung up in closets or in decorative wooden chests.
Daily (sometimes multiple times) clean kitchen counters and wash dishes.
Make bed daily.
Pick up items off floors and counters, end tables, coffee table, etc. and return those things to their homes.

I am a firm believer that clutter is kept under tight reigns when stuff is kept in its place!

A CLUTTER FREE HOME MAKES GREEN CLEANING IT A BREEZE!
Dusting furniture is simply a quick wipe down.
Sweeping/mopping floors is a quick job when you are not picking up items and returning them to their proper homes.
Cleaning bathrooms is a quick task of spraying and wiping down counters, tubs and toilets.  No need to clear counters when they are clutter free!

For your encouragement:
Question:  How do you eat an elephant?
Answer:  One bite at a time.

To become clutter free:
Take small steps on a regular basis to de-clutter (or pull weeds like me!) and your home will be clutter free.

To maintain a clutter free environment:
Take small steps on a regular basis to keep items picked up and put where they belong.
Consider your purchasing habits, maybe you want less stuff coming in.
More tips on this idea to come!

Prepping Your Home for Holiday Guests

Whether your holiday guests are staying the night, just for the day or popping in for dinner, we have green clean tips to get your home holiday, entertaining ready!

A WELCOMING ENTRANCE:  Real estate agents talk about curb appeal when selling a home.  That same curb appeal applies when company’s coming!  A clutter-free entrance says, “You are Welcome Here!”

Make sure the path to your home is clear and safe for guests.  Keep it clear from snow and use eco-friendly & pet safe ice melt as needed.

Once inside does your entryway continue the “welcoming theme”?  Be sure your entryway is scrubbed and tidy.  Is there an extra boot mat for guest boots?  They will feel more comfortable knowing there is space for them to take off their boots/shoes without muddying your nice and shiny floors.

THE FRIENDLY KITCHEN:
Once inside, offer up guests with a warm beverage of hot cocoa, coffee or tea.  The warm drink should be as refreshing as seeing your clean and tidy kitchen.  Cleared countertops relax the mind and give a sense of peace to the kitchen. Sinks should be empty and clean too.
Sinks empty and clean.  Stovetops wiped down and sparkling.

An untidy kitchen may put guests at a discomfort; feeling that they have put the homeowner out with their visit.

Go to eco-friendly aromatherapy kitchen cleaners:  Harmony Aromatherapy Dishwash, Harmony Aromatherapy Granite and Tile Cleaner, Harmony Aromatherapy Stainless Steel Cleaner, Harmony All-Purpose Degreaser

SIT DOWN AND STAY AWHILE--LIVING/FAMILY ROOM:
A guest-friendly living room has ample places for everyone to sit down comfortably.  Are there plenty of places your guests can sit their beverage down?

I love using Harmony Aromatherapy Wood Floor Cleaner as my dusting cleaner!  Its Cedarwood essential oil fragrance gives my furniture that natural wood-sey smell.  AND Harmony Aromatherapy Wood Floor Cleaner does not leave any residue behind like many furniture cleaners do.  (If I had hardwood or laminate wood flooring, I would use it on my floors too!).

Go to living/family room cleaners:  Harmony Aromatherapy Wood Floor Cleaner, Harmony Glass Cleaner.

THE LITTLE MENS/WOMENS ROOM:
The bathroom should always get priority cleaning!   If the rest of your home is clean and tidy, but you forgot your bathroom, that may leave guests at some unease.  A dirty bathroom can even affect their perception of the dinner.  Don’t leave a “bad taste” with your guests.

Go to all natural aromatherapy bathroom cleaners:  Harmony Aromatherapy Bathroom Cleaner, Harmony Aromatherapy Daily Shower Cleaner, Harmony Aromatherapy Granite and Tile Cleaner

GUESTS AND PETS:
We know you love your pets--we love ours too!  But maybe Aunt Mabel doesn’t.  Respect your dear Aunt and keep Fido away.
If she can put up with him being around, at least be sure to minimize the smell of Fido’s presence.

Bathe your pet regularly.  I give our dog Charlie a bath one or two days before our guests arrive, so he is the freshest.

Are you washing the bedding/blankets of your four-legged family member?  Keeping those items clean, not only helps to keep your pet clean, but reduces the pet funk smells.

If you have carpets, sprinkle the with baking soda to absorb pet smells.  Leave the baking soda on the carpet for a few minutes before vacuuming. Be sure do use the crevice device to catch pet hairs along baseboards and under furniture.

For pet beds that can’t be washed in a machine, remove covers and launder or sprinkle baking soda on the bed, leave on for a few minutes and vacuum.  Spot clean with Harmony Aromatherapy Carpet and Upholstery Spot Remover where needed.

Go to pet safe household cleaners:  Harmony Aromatherapy Dishwash (for pet water/food bowls), Harmony Aromatherapy Multi-Purpose Cleaner (for pet crates), Harmony Laundry Wash (bed blankets, covers), Harmony Aromatherapy Carpet and Upholstery Spot Remover (for spot cleaning large pet beds and accidents on carpets)

GOOD NIGHT - SLEEP TIGHT!  --OVERNIGHT GUESTS:
Guest bedroom/bathroom:
If possible, have extra chargers available. Do you have hotel samples of shampoo and soap stashed away somewhere?  Treat your guests to their own personal toiletries.  The sample toothpaste you get from your dentist is also a nice addition to your guest toiletry basket or bin.  Set out your best hand/bath towels and washcloths.  Give the guest bed pillows a fluff and be sure the guest room is very clean!

The Gift of Gratitude

Gratitude embraces the small things and small moments.

Gratitude sees the cup half full rather than half empty.

Gratitude is others-oriented.

Gratitude is a hug-to-others.

Gratitude is a hug-to-self.

Gratitude is universal.

Gratitude is limitless.

Gratitude is the PAUSE BUTTON on our wants and desires.

It seeks contentment.

It welcomes peace.

It feels full.

This holiday season:
May you be swept up by Gratitude rather than the hustling & bustling.
May you have greater Joy in giving because you are filled with Gratitude.
May you discover Peace within as you reflect on Gratitude.
May you spread Love because your heart is full of Gratitude.

A Grateful heart is contagious.
Spread Gratitude!

Spreading Christmas Cheer and Gratitude
