It's everywhere! It
leaves nothing untouched by its presence.
You can't get away from it. It is
in your life—period.
What is "IT"? "IT" is DUST.
The upside is that you CAN minimize IT.
I have heard in joking, "I can't clean, I'm allergic to
dust!" In reality, a large
percentage of individuals are allergic to dust.
The truth is—the more you stick to a regular green cleaning routine, the
less allergic symptoms to dust you will experience. It is what is in the dust particles that
trigger allergic symptoms, such as dust mites.
Avoiding dusting really is more detrimental to your health than
daily/weekly dusting routines.
It is not just your health at stake from the toll of dust:
Dust raises energy costs and makes replacement of appliances occur sooner.
How? Dust gets
trapped in the intake air vents of your refrigerator, and stand-alone freezer
which causes these appliances to have to work harder to do their job. Working harder requires more energy = more
expense! In addition, appliances that
have to work harder to run properly will not last as long therefore you will
have to replace them sooner—again costing you more!
A personal confession:
Over the past several months, my own refrigerator has been
acting and sounding strange, especially at night. Though, I green clean the inside of the
refrigerator on a fairly regular basis, I have not pulled it out to clean
behind it. Recently I decided I should
not put it off any longer. I took
everything out of the refrigerator first, then pulled it out and thoroughly
cleaned the back of the fridge, walls and floor. The intake air vents were definitely clogged! Every part of the refrigerator received a
thorough cleaning with Harmony Aromatherapy Multi-Purpose Cleaner.
Since that time, my refrigerator has been running quietly
and not acting or sounding strange. I
believe cleaning out the air vents and wiping down the wall and floor behind it
gave this appliance another go at life!
My husband was quite pleased to hear that it is running better too!
Since having that experience with my refrigerator, I have
made a plan of action to green clean other large appliances in my home to
insure they continue to work properly and last a long time!
Weekly:
Dust all furniture in all the rooms.
Launder bed linens and pillowcases. Dust can get trapped in your sheets and
pillowcases which in turn become a food haven for dust mites.
Bi-weekly:
Cobwebs in corners of all rooms, including the basement.
Monthly:
Wipe down walls with dusting mitt sprayed with Harmony
Aromatherapy Multi-Purpose Cleaner. To
reach high places, wrap your dusting mitt around the end of a broom.
Wipe down top of refrigerator with Harmony Aromatherapy Multi-Purpose
Cleaner.
Launder blankets and comforters with Harmony Aromatherapy Laundry
Wash.
Wipe clean all air intake vents throughout home.
Inspect furnace filter and replace filter as needed.
Quarterly:
Clean cabinet doors with Harmony Aromatherapy Wood Floor
Cleaner.
Green clean pantry with Harmony Aromatherapy Dish Wash or Harmony
Aromatherapy Multi-Purpose Cleaner.
Once a year (or twice
a year):
Clean out coils behind refrigerator with vacuum. Wipe down walls and flooring behind
refrigerator.
Clean behind large appliances (stove, refrigerator,
stand-alone freezer)
Clean out dryer vent (where it attaches to outside of home). Click link to order Harmony Aromatherapy green-clean products.
It really is all
about having a healthy, green clean environment that protects not only you, but
the lifespan of your appliances.
Protecting your health and the investment in your home is no small
matter.
